The anthology ‘Literary Criticism in Indian English Literature’ contains articles on significant works of distinguished authors with scholarly and meaningful appreciation of six novels, three with regional outlook -reflecting on all India character, two insightful studies of Anita Desai and one with a different approach to sufferings in rural surroundings, articles on short stories take up subjects which have not yet been touched so brilliantly as yet and then there are learned studies with genuinely new approach to the plays of Dattani and Girish Karnad. An interview with Sarangi adds beauty to the anthology. Originality in approach to the appraisal of authors’ thought is its virtue. The Indian Writers analysed in this anthology are: Raja Rao, V.S.
