Practice Teaching is meant to help teachers gain knowledge of the rudiments of the profession and the various tools and aids which make for a successful transfer of knowledge from the teacher to the taught. The author has kept in mind that new entrants to the teaching vocation are themselves beginners in the learning process. This book attempts to take them through this process so that they can effectively pass it on to their students.
The pressure on school teaching has become tremendous over the generations. A host of new subjects has been introduced while ‘real’ learning time has not increased proportionately. Today’s child needs more attention, sometimes on an individual basis, than he did three or four decades ago. This book is intended to help the teacher understand and deal with this pressure.
